AT GAINES FARM
How it began…
Welcome! We are the Gaines’. It’s so nice to meet you! It has been our dream to land back in Owen County Ky where my husband grew up. It’s one of those magical communities that still exist.
It took us a while but we finally found a farm in November 2022 and took a big step towards moving back home. Since then, the farm has started to transform. Fields are being reclaimed, ponds cleaned and barns repaired. A new road has been built.
Somewhere along the line, my own dream began to take shape. A market garden and flower farm. Raising heirloom variety vegetables and cut flowers sustainably with no chemicals or pesticides. Perfect for both us and our pollinator friends.
Blossom and Harvest at Gaines Farm was born.
Where it’s going…
The gardens have exploded. Both vegetables and flowers are flourishing.
We are currently growing dahlias, zinnias, sunflowers, cosmos, calendula, snapdragons, celosia and lots of beautiful greenery along with our heirloom vegetables.
Spring will bring daffoldils, tulips, peony, iris and roses. Plans are in the works for a greenhouse. The more I grow, the more in love with growing I have become.
Where you can find us
Currently you can find us at the Franklin County Farm Market weekly and Owen County Farm and Craft Market. We also have fresh weekly bouquets at Potters Corner in Owenton, Ky and at The Coffee Exchange in Pleasant Ridge.
